I guess I just want it smooth out a little bit in the big bumps. In all my years of riding iv never taken the time to learn about setting up shocks for my weight and riding style. Im 220 without gear so I usually just crank everything to the hardest setting. I hopped on my girlfriends brothers 2012 rush that he used in the irondog, and it was amazing. I know I wont get my sled to handle like that , but do want some improvement over stock. Any input would be appreciated.

I thought I was replying under my earlier post, sorry it came up like this.weird. I want to be comfortable so ill spend what I need to.

Hygear suspension has very sweet axis shocks
Zbroz has very sweet exit shocks

Take a look both are very good shocks and they will set them up for you and riding style ;)!

Send your shocks to Bruce at B-Line Control and he will rebuild/revavle them for you, your sled, sled mods, weight, riding style and the type of terrain you run on most. He will also give you initial suspension settings to try to match the revalve as well.

He is a former Yamaha Sno-x and X-county suspension tech that now has his own business setting up sleds and building shocks for all forms of snowmobiling. I highly recommend him!

I guess you guys have never experianced what B-Line Control can do for you and your stock shocks. for $400-$500 he will get your stock shocks to perform as good or better than the aftermarket shocks. How much did you spend on a full set of Axis shocks? I am going to guess $900-$1200

The Walmart in my area stocks snowmobile replacement shocks from all the major aftermarket manufacturers. The shocks are located in asile 10 between the trans molecular deionzers and the wtf is that?. If you wait till january they are usually half price. Just sayin

Lmao... Only way u get a good shock for 1200 a set... Good shocks run 6-800 each last I knew

ok what is so much better about bline then hygear? Don't get me wrong hygear did wonders to my stock shocks, but im guessing you never tried anything other than reworked stock? Trust me when I say this it get much better than that! And yes axis where expensive $1700 (rears only), but guess what all do it again if I have to!:) :sled1:

Have nice day, Sir!:)

No amount of shock work can make up for dead weight, as much as i tried, there was no getting around the fact my 2012 xtx was a pig, and anything less than 16 inches of good snow it bounced off the frozen tundra with a glorious thud. Loved the motor, but that was it. anything more than 16 inches of snow it was like a v-plow when you slowed down, cant always run wot everywhere. final straw was bent subframe on what i thought was a mild hit. Been riding 40 years so no rookie, just saying. Not bashing Yamaha, i think they make great stuff, mostly.
