Hi folks

My dealer did the same thing with my bars. you can see in my first picture my bars are like yours, after the first ride i tilted them up because they were too low for standing up.

Another Mainiac here. I have a 15 ltx se with the mpi turbo. As already said quieter than stock. Besides the undercarriage protection clutching would be the first thing I'd do. If you had tuners getting rid of them would be my first advice. Can't comment on 14 skis

Stain what part of Vermont ? With turbo you change gear set or leave stock? How many psi will head gasket take?

Definitely need to change gears with the turbo, you lose no low to mid range power with taller gearing, there is no negative feedback at all with taller gearing actually. Stock compression will hold up to quite a bit, it's the stock fueling that is the limiting factor. With the mpi kits if you're looking to turn up the boost at all you need to have a bigger fuel pump installed at the very least, with the hurricane kit they come with larger injectors so that makes you safe still for the low boost applications. As long as there's no detonation you don't have to worry about head gaskets, but on stock compression that will take bigger fuel pump and/or larger injectors and race fuel before I'd consider running anything over 6-7 pounds..but keep in mind that's in the 200hp range and I can say from experience that with that kind of hp and proper gearing they are very fast sleds!

Again any pics of your sleds and list of must haves in your mind in order works for me. Any products you felt were waste also list here. ie power commander or?

The stock skis on my 14 darted unbelievably bad the first couple rides, it was a dangerous uncontrollable sled at higher speeds. Switched out the stock carbides for 6" studboy deuce bars and it was a totally different sled. I have an ltx se, I'm 95% trail riding, and I actually changed out the front float 3 shocks for the standard coil overs that come on your sled and I couldn't be happier. If you want an all around plush ride stick with those front shocks, after a full season with them on mine I'm not changing a thing.

Hey man nice sled! Welcome to the club. I bought mine late january last year and couldn't be happier. Only thing I didnt like are the skis, stock carbides are junk last about 200 miles till you cant turn at all. I changed them to 6" inner 2" outer to get me threw the season and ended up being a decent trail ski once you get use to the engine brake and weight transfer. Plan on going with curves or slydogs before the start of the season. I installed a sandale maxflow7000 muffler and absolutly love it. Sounds sick nice deep tone but isnt too loud. Changed the tri-hub out to J&T wheel kit, installed dupont slides, HID's from rockmeister. I plan on getting Ulmers clutch kit, intake kit, powercommander, skid plate, and changing to the 8DN belt.

HI welcome to the site there is a tonne of great info and stand up members with tonnes of knowledge! This is the#1 place to do a little yamatalk!!;)

I would suggest studs and carbides right off the bat! There is a whole section here on the size people are going with and the amount

6 is the max the sled can handle with stock injectors and fuel pump. You can push it to 10#'s with 110 race fuel, high flow pump larger main injectors and 4th injector in the intercooler. I am doing my 15 right now with the switch set at 6 with 93 pump gas and 10#'s on race gas. My 14 with low compression pistons, carillo rods and studs is being pushed to 20#'s and will be closer to 330 hp. With the new setup she should run sub 4 seconds at over 130 mph in 660 ft snow drags and even better on ice.

You listed your sled as a 14 LTX but looking at the tunnel an the rest of the sled I believe it is an rtx (129") go with a trail turbo it will put you at about 180 to 185 hp and the stock gearing is good for that. going taller will take away a bit of your launch speed. The biggest thing would be to get the clutches (both) to Allen Ulmer. These do not achieve full sift out and bind on the secondary causes belts to blow. You will want to get them done for the power and so you can run the much cheaper and more reliable 8 dn belt from the rx-1, apex and nitro. They are $50 less apiece and will last 3 times as long with no belt dust.

I went with 21-41 gearing with no ill effects. I think it actually took away some track spin. 16.5mpg if I need it on long runs. I may go with Hurricanes 240 kit this year---75% sure. That kit come with a head shim to run 10lbs of boost.
As far as carbides I have been running the Bergstroms for 6000 miles and may tray some ting different this year. It seems the sled could steer better over a wider range of conditions.
I also did the Hygear revalve and spring package. I think I will bring them down to the Epping grass drags and have them soften them up even further.

8 dn belt with or we without turbo? Or ulmer?

A 8dn belt is another smart thing to do with or without a turbo. if you just search 8dn conversion there is many threads on how to o it and the benefits. the easiest way to change to the 8dn belt is to add the osp belt adjuster or you can just add washers to the 3 bolts on the back of the clutch.
