Hello!
I have a mcx rx1 -03.
I have some problems with the idle.
The idle is perfect when it's cold but after a few minutes of driving the idle climbes too about 3500-4000rpm. When I pull the choke it goes down again a short while. And it is very hard to start directly after stopping, it looks like it gets to much fuel.
What can cause this?

Best regards/ Pakko

I don't have any afr gauge =(
Yes, it is probably lean when the idle rises due to the effects by the choke. But when I start it again black smoke comes out from the exaust and it is hard to start

Can also be one or more plugged pilot jets, same symphtoms as you described, lean high idle. How is your pilot screws set?

I bought a AEM afr gauge. The high idle problem was to much fuel. It were around afr 11-12 on idle.
So this problem is now fixed =)

How much boost can I have on my sled? There are je-pistons installed but I don´t know the compression ratio. This sled is one of the first rx1 that mcx installed a kit on. I run 1bar boost now, but it get way too much fuel at wot. Around afr 10, and it runs very bad. At half throttle it runs ok, but afr is around 11. Some suggestions?
And I can´t seem to get higher boost then 1bar...... maybe some leakage?

I thought I had found a leakage. The carb covers were bent. So I bought new aluminium covers and mounted them, but there are no difference.

I have a smal crack in the exaust header, but can it cause these problems?

I can turn the fuel pressure regulator screw up and down but the only difference are lean or rich idle.... midrange and wot afr seems to be the same regardless what I do and the sled runs like crap! I am going to make a pressure tester and check the intake system again.

o, and I allmost forgot. I was close to burning down the sled. The plastic around the fueltank and the handlebar cover melted from the heat of the exhaust header.

the small crack had grown... the turbo is loose :o| not surprising at all that the sled almost burnt down

The fuel pressure to the carbs should be around 5 psi at idle, and follow the boost with 5 psi higher fuelpressure than the boost-PSI all the way to WOT. It is no idea to turn the screw on the FPR without an FP-meter. If you cannot adjust to those values your FPR is broken, or if pressure is to low your fuelpump may be weak.

now I have set the fuelpressure at idle to 5psi whit a fp-meter.

bolted back the turbo whit new bolts and gaskets.

did a pressure test and it leaked like hell everywhere. But now several hours later I have narrowed the leaks down to the two plastic t-s.
I shouldn´t have assembled the sled whitout the nice billet t-s from Ted Jannetty. :o| They were on backorder when I orderd the carb covers.

So, is it any idea to take the sled out and ride considering the leaking t-s? What will happen?

hmm, can it be something else and not the tees? I can only reach the place where the leaks are whit my finger, I can´t see it.
I think it can be the choke shaft or something... :o| I´m going to go for a drive tomorrow and see what happends

now I have tried.. It sputters at wot, but pulls really god otherwise. More epoxy on the inside of the tees? It will take several weeks to get billet tees if I order them now

more investigations....
It is not the tees who are leaking!
It is the choke shafts... when I had the carburators apart I superglued the rubber caps like rxrider did, but it doesn´t seem to help. What to do?
