Im having the same issue.....when hot, the idle rises and won't come back down. I touch the choke and it buries the engine and the idle comes back down, but climbs back up after a few seconds. Im guessing need to clean the carbs too.....this sled is a 2003 and has only 460 miles on it. Had some recent work done to it, but Im guessing it needs more love on the jets. Im very familiar with dirt bike carbs....Honda especially.....but I'll check out these and see if I can handle it. Me normally no likey Yamaha carbs
doh...just read your previous post that you fixed them by working with the set screws. Before I mess with them, was your sled idling ok and then later too high? Mine seemed fine on start up, but when it got hot is when it started to idle high. I was thinking that it was the carbs!

Yes, mine idled perfect when cold, after about 3-4min when i first touched the throttle that's when it never came back down.
First check that you have a minimum of 2mm play on the throttle wire, and if not you need to adjust it so you have, also check the idle screw where the wire is attached to the carbs.
If this does not help i would suggest you turn the 3 sync screws exactly 1/2 å turn and see if that helps, you need to be exact so they all are a like.
