First thing, AWESOME DIY project.
the MAIN issue I see is that for CLEARING snow off pavement and such is that you want MORE ground pressure for traction. That thing would work great for making a snowcross track and such which requires flotation. He will have no traction with out studs and studs would carve up the pavement/concrete. Rubber tire skidsteer vs. tracked skidsteer the rubber tire one wins hands down CLEARING snow. Skinny tire truck vs. Wide tire truck the Skinny tired one wins. Also that blade is too wide for a rig that looks like its under 1500# he would be better off mounting 2 rummage sale snow throwers side by side and running them off a hydraulic motor.
