Yamaha also had a celebrity in the online community in their booth. Bob Davis, who set the Guinness Book of World Records for the most miles in one season on a snowmobile, told his story to anyone who asked. He put on 12,163 miles in three months, beating the previous record of just over 7,200 miles. He did this from January 11, 2008 through March 11, 2008 on his 2005 Yamaha RS Venture. He averaged a little over 17 MPG on this trip and a little over 200 miles a day. The snowmobile now has over 36,000 miles and he plans to go to 40,000 miles before concentrating his riding on a new 2009 Yamaha Venture GT.

It was a pleasure to be invited by Yamaha to attend Hay Days.
Hay Days was a great event and was also pretty cool to meet Mr Sled, Convert and all Ty'ers who stopped by the Yamaha display. When I get home I will post our TY group photo, as well as some others.
I need to make some corrections to the online article.
I rode 12,163 miles in 60 days, January 11, - March 11, 2008 which established a new Guinness World Record.
My daily average was 202.71 miles per day.
The old record was 7,211 miles. I beat the old record by 4,952 miles.
My entire riding season totalled 14,633 miles
The remainder is correct.
Hay Days is quite a remarkable annual event. We have nothing close to an event like this back East.
I will be attending the Big East in Syracuse, NY on October 3-5, 2008.
I look forward to meeting everyone who stops by the Yamaha display!
Thanks to Metallicat for the acknowledgement!

Here is a group photo of the TY family and others that met at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
Tom, "Mr Sled" is organizing the group for the photo.

I was a real pleasure to meet everyone at Hay Days.
Being a first time attendee from back East, I could not believe how big this event really was. WOW!!!
