Hood Screens Red or Black?

I have the 06 RTX, Im hating the grey screens.
I finally had some free time to take them off, so paint them red or black them out?


Anybody have pics?

I have a Blue 06ER and I went with white. Any color is better than the grey.

Yep, BLACK. I had the same sled. Red is to much and didnt look right...IMO. Go with black. It'll blend better.

Hey just an idea, what about doing them semi gloss black?
Or just go gloss black like the hood?

Black is a good choice on that sled. I have an ER and I'm hesitant to even add any more red to an already red sled.

i chose chrome because i have a buddy that owed me a favor but black would have been may other choice.

I had the same issue with my 06 Attak. The grey looked like crap. After looking at pictures in the Yamaha brochure and the gallery pictures on-line at Yamaha's web site, the screens were BLACK in every picture (the pictures of your sled have black screens as well). I was gonna paint mine black but I called Yamaha and brought it to their attention and how bad it looked. They sent me all new black screens. Here's the before & after.
