I had a little "incident" with my 2012 Apex last week, I rear ended my buddy's apex and blew my hood apart. I found a replacement on Ebay but it is scratched up and the front hook is just pulling away but not bad. Does anybody have experience with repairing the hood? Any special epoxies or glues? How about paint and primer types for factory durability? I am probably just going to use this as an excuse to paint all the colored panels at this point.

Thanks!

Tom

I like the paint job. That's sharp looking.

I bought a brand new shroud from yamaha partshouse this past fall for $242. I just checked & the price is now gone up to $269.
......scott32's cutom job does look pretty darn cool though!

So what kind of special paint is used for that factory durability?

I decided to paint all the panels a Ferrari red.

I used dupili-color primer, paint. dupil-color adhesion promotor prep for the raw plastics, then 7 coats of clear.
