horrible weekend

Weld it and use what's in my link to make sure. It works, as that RX1 crashed last week, bent the ski to 90 degrees catching a rut at speed, rolled, and the bulkhead is perfect! And I love my curve xs skis on the Apex.

yeah i got everythig being taken care of from my dealer we've dealt with him for years so their gonna take care of the bulkhead for us, but the curve xs skis, no darting or push? im really interested in them as they are a little wider, but im also considering the slydogs... i spoke with aaron and he also told me the curves were an excellent ski

sorry to hear of your misfortune.
i used simmons on my apex and agree they can feel heavy some times but they handle incredible.

i am currently using the pilot6.9 skis and love them. they are as good as the simmons on the hard packed trails but have much less effort to turn. they are ok in the loose powder. not great just ok.
for the money i think they are hard to beat.

That is great your dealer is taking care of the repair. For future reference, Yamaha uses a very high grade alloy on their bulkheads. I have successfully TIG welded one with a 5356 filler and a bit of preheat on an SXR 700 that met a similar demise. Years have passed with not a single issue or propagation of a stress fracture. Typically, the OEM's use cast or extrusion aluminum alloys that are a pleasure to work with. A great welder/machinist is real nice to have in your pocket so be on the look out!

Feel free to give us a call if you want some more info on the skis. Even if it's 7pm on Sunday; if we aren't on the sleds, chances are we'll answer the phone!
