I'm looking at getting a inline hose heater but want to make sure I get the right one will the yamaha sma-heatr-cl-nt work on the phazer and VL? It says 1" id coolant line.

Why don't you use a small automotive style pan heater? They are a available in different sizes and easier to install.

Pan heater and warm the oil? I thought about that, but when my sled wouldn't start it was turning over nice and fast. I have battery tender on it, so stiff oil wasn't an issue. I want to heat the whole motor.

2007 Yamaha Phazer GT
The coolant hose is 25mm ID - I installed a water temp gauge from Ulmer Racing and that is what the T adapter is.

He already has it. 25mm is 0.984252 inch so it should work.

Thanks. I ended up ordering yamaha part # sma-heatr-cl-nt anyone got any good info on the best location for it? Do I have to worry about bleeding the lines after the install?
Like Mooseman said I do have the cold start update but still couldn't get it to go at -29F the other day. I do have new synthetic oil with proper weight, new plugs, good batter, battery tender, and fresh 91 octane non ethanol gas and sled run great once it's started. I'm just looking for every advantage I can get. If this doesn't start it and from what I've read on here it will, I will add an oil heater too. It did start right up the other day at -20F but when we leave the cabin in the morning to head out to fish Lake of the Woods it can easily start out at -25 to -30 and my sleds got to start or my buddy will quit inviting me or tell me to buy a 2 stroke or worse yet make me ride two up on his Arctic Cat!
