rumor has it from dealers...when calling yamaha warranty dept... the first question is ....does it have a flash....I for one am not ready to blow away my warranty...at some time maybe...but like most...I like that extra pop.... these kits definately seems to fit the bill!

heres HMF who builds the exhaust

Yamaha Sidewinder & Arctic Cat 9000 Thunder Cat

Yamaha should offer kit for three times what others charge and keep the warranty intact.

$3000. For 250+ with warranty intact. Done! Especially if kit was proven at the Yamaha testing grounds.

I think no matter if you piggyback or flash, they can see the increases in boost and rpms in the memory. So Im not sure warranty will remain if they dig deeper into the ecu logs. I could be wrong though.

Also, I feel that the engine will run better and be safer overall with a flash, and not piggybacked. Might not be something we notice but the Gurus working on these flashes have alot built into them, and test time/datalogged.

Im looking for a quiet option, and the excell seems louder then what id like, i bet its similar to the hindle as the design is very similar.

Stage 2 max boost is only 12.9lbs from what im reading.

It is nice to have all these options.

Has there been any motors with issues with a tune?

anyone that mods turbos know's the warranty is out the window... but hey, 200hp stock, just well clutched and that's enough for most, if you want more, it's a gamble, still pretty cheap for such a performance machine...

Not with us, Perfect record thus far...
185 flashed approx.

But I've heard through the grapevine of some 22 psi plus testing that may not have gone well.

That's why we keep our flashes at 15 psi for customers and 16 psi for a few select testers. Keeping it safe to keep yamaha and cat happy.

But they better recognize we are a huge reason why these sleds sell so well.

Ive got td dealers demoing TD set up sleds and making guys buy a 2017 yam or cat sled the next day. They do this on a regular basis.

These piggybacks cant adjust timing as far as i know...
That's a major difference. There is much more control on an ecu reflash. Piggybacks intercept signal that is prone for issues as the said signals change all the time.

This is like a HJ on the 1100 vs a reflash...

this is true..but instead of adjusting the timing map...yamaha has many fail safes in place...and this isnt meant to compete with a tune at 13+ lbs....the pc5 runs a base map and another map over top off manifold pressure that adds additional fuel...all yamaha fail safes in place...stage one doesnt add any boost at all...

so far ...from all I hear..first question is..does it have a flash...if it had a fuel controller which was removed going into warranty...it wouldnt be a lie and also if the fuel adder was removed...no flash here sir...we all know a good dealer goes a long way..but helping them is key..

the exhaust is made by top atv and cycle exhaust producer hmf....and hear...I like what I see reasonable for my old ears...

Last reason I bought a turbo sled is for warranty. ONLY reason I bought one is I knew I could get it to 260 +/- HP with about 30 mins of work

SJ that muffler is VERY loud compared to a SQ, its straight thru similar to hindle which is loud too, not one that will pass cop without ticket here now way.

I know not everyone is worried bout the noise, but ive come to want a quiet rocket....SQ will be most HP with least noise, and stock modded will be next up but 8hp LESS then SQ, but far far quieter again...Bens video shows a good sample of both.

Id still like to see a stock muffler flash just for kicks.

I dont see warranty issues....maybe normal things but nothing motor wise, I think this is a stout engine.

Life is short. Winter is even shorter. Just put a real flash on it and enjoy it!
It's not like your entire warranty is gone. Yes if you grenade your motor you are SOL. But anything that can not be directly attributed to the tune is still 100% warranty. In fact it is law now in the US as car dealers fought this several years ago and lost.
