Maybe some have looser valve clearance. In spec but to the big side. This would directly affect how much the decomp opens valve on startup. Further open easier to spin motor over. Even .001 in does make a difference. Heck it could even be the spring. Remember Phazer? That spring made a huge difference in cranking speed.

YEP! 2007 Phazer was so bad Yamaha sent out update ECU and decomp spring. Horrid to no start stock and crappy idle stock.

Talk to the dealer today everything was resolved last year and no re flash is coming. Pick up my new 16 viper lax le tomorrow.
