How can I tell if I already have a Yamaheater

Just a note to you guys, I have an 05 Vector which I bought new from the dealer. The grip heaters & thumb warmer worked perfectly fine when stuck behind the stock windshield. After I moved the stock handle bars to a rider forward location (same as 06 Apex) the heat coming from the same grips was not good at all. When you move them out into the wind they are not good enough. The same grips that were more than addequate tucked behind the wind shield became very cold and useless.

Rock,

Do you have directions fo those of us that have purchased sleds with your heaters installed? Or do they just work when the sled is started?

I know they are on the Apex I purchased, and there is a light on the dash with a small toggle switch. I'm not really sure what either of them mean or do.

Thanks for your help. I didn't see anything on your site for support docs.

Hey biffdotorg!

They are on the Support page.
Here is the link.

Look under Testing.

Hope this helps!

PS Most people never turn off the switch.
We don't even put them on the newer units, as most never use them & they are the most likely part to fail.

Perfect, thanks for your help! So the switch literally just shuts the unit off if they are too hot?

The switch changes the Zero Bar setting ONLY, between your new High Heat Mode & the factory Off mode.

All your factory settings (1-8 Bars), operate the same with your factory handlebar controls. (blue switch on bars)

Normal use is to always leave the YamaHeater switch on, start out warming your sled in RED LED mode to pre-heat your bars as your sled warms up.
Then switch to one of the upper factory settings(Green LED) as required for riding using the blue switch on your bars.
If the conditions require more heat, you can always switch back to zero Bars (RED LED) mode as you ride.

It is much easier to use than explain. lol
Try it out in your garage.
