i was riding my 08 nytro last week and in the morning ( first start of the day ) my sled would not start
. so i found a thread on here and it says about frozen fuel relay that it is getting damp so im looking to replace it. my question is how do you get your hand in there to get at it or do i have to remove the body panel and plastic around the shock to get to the relay? by the way, after i hit the relay with the heat gun for a couple minutes it started fine for the rest of the day... until the next morning.|

Remove the plastic frame that the headlight is mounted in, disconnect the steering shaft, and remove the airbox. The bank of relays is not really service friendly, but it's not as bad as it sounds.

You don'y have to remove the steering post and air box, although that would give you great room.
Just remove the nose plastic. The easiest then is to pull the clips that hold the relay rack in place then you can manipulate it so it's not too bad to get at it. Buy the new relay holder as well because you will probably end up breaking the tabs when you take the original relay out. Then it's a quick swap and back into place. Getting the rear snap tab on he rack back into place takes a little work but not too bad.

I just pulled the nose plastic off. Then grab the 3rd relay back. You'll see there is a rubber loop around the mounting point that holds the relay in place. Slide that rubber loop off the metal piece and BAM!!! Your relay is now semi-movable. You should be able to twist it enough to get to both tabs on the sides. I do agree with yamaposer too...i've taken the clips off that hold the whole relay assembly on. Either way works. Good luck.
