Over the years my speedo/tach has gotten some moisture in it that condenses and freezes on the face making it very hard to read in very cold temps. The plan is to remove it and put it in a bag of rice over the summer to suck out any moisture. Question is- how do I remove it? I looked in the manual and can't find any reference to the windshield or gauge pod. Thanks

If you go to Yamaha Parts Finder at the top of the page, look under "meter" and you will see how this goes together. Looks like the front part you are talking about might just detach from the rest of the gauge. It lists as a separate part for about $35.00.

As far as I remember from owning a Vector...it's just 3 screws holding it onto the dash cover and then there is a gage connector. Pretty basic stuff.

Yes, just a few screws in back of the pod and unplugging the harness will free the tach. Very easy to remove..
