True Blue has a great set-up for this. He was very helpful in the information he gave so I could do the same. I extended my rails to a 136 and I needed an extension but wanted big enough to have a rack.
The 144 extension from hartman is 220.00 and comes with bumper and tunnel stiffeners for the extension. The rack he used is from an 06 Arctic Cat Crossfire. It was about 70.00 for all the parts shipped 2nd day.

Here's what I did when I converted my viper to a 136".... I went to home depot or lowes and got some 3/4 inch alum angle. then I polished it, cut it to fit, and drilled holes for hooks and asthetics... Plust it helped make the extension more rigid. I could easily carry a helmet, gallon of oil, or what ever if you had one of those little helmet bungy nets.. It works great.
