In your picture the tube is the brass assembly that the main jet goes into. The updated ones are longer and have a o-ring located in the groove close to the main jet. This is there to create a seal in the chamber of the updated float bowl so fuel is sucked from the back of the bowl when the sled is at extreem angles.

You need to remove it (the tube) from the carbs you bought and install into your carbs then put your main jet along with the new bowl on your carbs.

so its the big brass tube and unscrew that and then there is a o-ring and then there is the main jet to take out? i think i am going to take the jets out of my current carbs and put them in my new carbs on the way! this would be way easier that taking the updated float bowl and putting it on the carbs without the updated float bowl. all i have to do with the set i have comming is chance the mainjets ecause they have the leaner jets. i dont know much about the leaner jets. do you know anything about the leaner jets?

ok, i've done some research and i looks like the big brass one above in the picture is the main jet and i dont even need to take them jet holders out if i'm gonna use the carbs that have the updated float bowls on. all i need to do i change the jets (leaner jets) that are in the updated carbs and use my non-updated carb main jets that are stock and put them in my updated float bowl carbs. then all is done to the carbs and then shes all ready. anyone disagree with me? i'm only new at this and i could be wrong!

What I would have done, but each to his own :-)

The only reason some (including myself) suggested switching the updated bowls and jet holders from the carbs you bought to the ones on the sled then installing your main jets would be; to ensure the only thing that changes is the bowls and holders. If the carbs you bought have different pilot jet , jet needle clip, spring settings etc. You will alter those by just switching the jets from your holders to the carbs with the newer bowls and installing them on your sled. Not to mention the carbs are synched for the sled they come off (I'm not sure but I doubt all carbs synch out identically).

Ditto if you just put your mains in the new carbs you had better check the pilotjet air jet, and needle position. Be way easier to just swap out the tubes and bowls. Maxdlx

Also you know how your carbs were maintained, or cleaned and cared for. You also know your tps and tors worked JMO

hey, i know that on my carbs there is a o-ring down at the end of the tube in the main jet. if i swap the bowls and put the updated float bowls on my current carbs, could i leave that o-ring down there and then put another o-ring at the top if the tube. only wants to do this so i wont damage the o-ring if i take it out. let me know

the tube should be loger on the new set up so youneed to use it. maxdlx

i know that the tube is longer. i am not talking about the tube. i'm talking about the o-ring by the main jet nosel, at the inside end of the tube. could i use that o-ring in the updated kit? then if i put the updated float bowl kit on my carbs i will just have to install the tube, o-ring, and main jet. that would be better because i mite damage the o-ring way inside of the tube. let me know
