Have had ours out in really deep Colorado powder. WIll go places a 153 Nytro will not go but not where my 2014 M8 153 will go. Surprised me how well it would handle deep powder but it is still getting a long track very soon. The other issue in powder is the 42inch stance. I have the 38 inch arms and will get those on this weekend. Handled great through the trees but lacked the lean response we are used too.
The good part? It runs and handles powder like a short track M8! SOOOO much easier to ride than the Nytro or even the Phazer. The girlfriend did get it stuck bad twice but it happened because she stopped...lol.

1 word.... AWESOME!
I wish I could post the video I have in 3-4 feet of powder this past weekend.
There are more videos I have to get from the other guys there. Never once got stuck.

I don't have a XTX but I have a LTX with a 1.6 lug track and it goes through crazy powder, but one thing is that when snow gets into the motor it bogs down. I have hit some five foot drifts and it goes right through but bogs for a second before it revs back up. But it pulls right through.

The XTX is way to wide. If you use it out west I would disconnect the sway bar at a minimum.
Otherwise it works very well. I have the 38" front end on mine and it is the easiest snowmobile I have driven in the deep snow ever.

Hey Stingray719 and loudelectronics, Just looking for some advice. I'm looking at changing the front end on my XTX. Did you guys go with zbroz 38" a-arm kit on your XTX? and could you show some pics of the front end if possible? Also, how do you guys find the ride quality on the trails when switching from 42" to 38" stance? Thanks.

I bought one of the Arctic Cat 38 inch kits left over from the update to the 2012 Cats. Cost about 200 bucks delivered. As this sled is almost identical to my 2014 M8 I suspect the change will make it ride the same. The diff between the two is that the Viper is more stable and the roads but does not reply to rider input like the M8. And as we ride alot of powder here the narrow front end means alot to us. If you ride just trails and road I would leave the 42 inch on.
Please note though that the M8 rails down a road close to as stable as a RX1 so I do not expect to lose much roadability on the Viper when we get the 38 on this weekend.
