Hello all,

I have installed a 2005 vector engine in an airplane. I am cruising at 7000RPM. Is there any one who can give me some idea about how fast a snowmobile would be going at 7000RPM.

You can see a video of the installation in youtube search on kolb yamaha.

Regards
Jason

Between stock and aftermarket clutching I would say my Warrior and Apex speed at about 7000 was around 55-60mph.

Have someone check you with a radar gun as you are
coming in low :die :die :die

Or
Have someone drive down the road at different speeds while following them.

Airplane speed with sled motor :dunno:

A snowmobile has a CVT (continuously variable transmission) so speed will vary greatly depending on load and conditions. I would guess normally in the hi 50 to lo 60 mph.

Thanks guys,

I just needed an estimate because now I fly by hours and if I know how fast a snowmobile would be going at 7000RPM I can estimate milage for maintance items.

I hope you had your cam tension arm looked at since there is a service bulletin warning against this part might cause total engine failure on 05-07 motors. I would hate to see it lock up in an airplane unless it's good at gliding..

I have changed my cam tensioner for one with a blue dot.

Thanks
