i was wondering how much riser i can go on my mtx. i was looking at muffin works block and riser but i want to go higher then stock with out putting longer cables on it.

I was told two inches when I asked the same question. I haven't put one on yet though.

I have a 2" on my and have to be careful turning the bars hard left.

You can go as high as you want. Most reputable hydraulic shops can make the longer brake line you need. There are custom shops that can easily make longer throttle and parking brake cables too. May have to extend your wiring to the bars as well.

I went 5" but had to re-route the throttle cable a bit and the housing did eventually split. No issue with the brake line, it's got plenty of extra length. This was on an '06 mtn.

I have an 8" and my friend has a 9 1/4" risers. They are on top of the stock ones, that is cut, to just stick up above the chrome fitting thingy. It works fine on mine, but my friend had to reroute the cables a bit. Both on stock cables..

ok so i can go up to 9.25 with stock cables. i think muffin works block is 2inches and i could get a 6in riser. is the stock one on a apex 6in then.

just wanting to follow this post as i am in the same situation trying to figure out how high i can go on stock cables

Who do you guys recommend getting a 2" riser from??? thanks!!

I would be sure to measure your stock one.
I think that my MTX riser is stock at 8".
If I remember, my GT riser was 6". I would hate for you to buy something only for it to be at the same overall height. I have had good luck and know many others that just added a 2" pivot riser from rox or anywhere else. I would think with a little rerouting you should be able to get away with just a 2" rise.
Whatever you do, do NOT but a throttle cable extension kit. Like from Powermadd. They do nothing but bind and set off TORS all the time. I was completely unsatisfied and it was a clunker strapped to the handle bars.
