First of all I really appreciate all the input I have received on here about this new purchase I made as I continue to learn about it... Sled came with a Bikeman Full Velocity "trail" exhaust on it, 2.5: I believe, and while it sounds really nice and throaty, its too loud for me trail riding. Drones in my helmet which I CANNOT stand (overly sensitive hearing). Found someone local that has a TD SQ 3", ECU with a Powertrail tune, and a CAI for a great price. (he says its 2.5 but the flex joint is the 3" style, "ribbed", maybe they used to make a 2.5 that way?) How is the 3" based on peoples experience? I know noise is VERY subjective, but I want something that's in between what I have, and stock, and mufflers are ridiculously expensive to buy and only have it still be too loud. PLUS I want a different tune that the BMP I have on it so this would be a great buy IF the pipe isnt too loud as it would save me a lot of money. Prefer not to drop over 1k on a new tune AND a new pipe right now... This to me looks like the 3" but maybe I am wrong if they used to look the same...

Mufflers are far too subjective to nail down a particular sound that may make one person happy, and the next guys hates it.
I'm running a 3" SQ and think it's awesome. Relatively quite with zero drone.
Note: measure across muffler outlet to verify size.

So maybe somebody will correct me but i know for a fact they are both Magnaflow , but the super quiet 3" which i have , in the form of a custom Viney Fab are similar to the one you mentioned, but is a longer body and i feel it has a very nice tone and is not any more loud than any of the many aftermarket exhaust.

All aftermarket mufflers are loud!
If you don't like the noise wear earplugs. The wind noise alone cut down is worth it.

does this one pictured have the taller core? it visually looks taller than my BMP, I am debating pulling the trigger one the package. But does anyone know if the cluster needs to be programmed also? the seller says the cluster read "Turbo Dynamics" when startedYa kyle told me he used a taller magnaflow core when he use to make them

Yes cluster needs to be a hurricane or td tune.
In all honesty I don't think the pm tunes from either care what type of performance muffler you run. Wether it be a modified stock muffler to the 3" straight through micro mufflers. Just get a tune from either of this companies if you run an aftermarket muffler.
Don't run the bikeman tune if you have it.

Gotcha. What is the issues with the Bikeman tunes? I want to get rid of it whether its have it stock flashed or TD/PEFI/Hurricane. Just curious. The fact they don't sell them anymore, and that they're 270 tunes need 110 octane, while others can have 270 and be okay on 87-91 tells me the tuning isn't very good...Yes cluster needs to be a hurricane or td tune.

I have had 4 exhausts on my SW
-stock
-TD 2.5 SQ
-Hurricane Perf Trail 2.5
-finally TD 3" stock mod
Everything is louder then stock and I found the TD 3" stock mod to suit my tastes the best.
I would think that if you can get a good deal on the TD package you initially listed and its the setup you like...go for it.
Hopefully TD will help with support when you buy their package used???
Maybe call them first?

I find almost no difference in noise between the 2.5sq and 3sq.
I have read comments that the sq's have no drone, but I disagree.

270 is the limit on 91 octane with TD or Hurricane. Bikeman doesn't sell 998 tunes anymore, that should tell you something.Gotcha. What is the issues with the Bikeman tunes?
