I'm been trying to search for how many updates there have been on the 08 Nytro RTX. I had my subframe updated the first year i owned it. Also the ball joints. Now i hear people say the chaincase bolt is updated also ? How many updates are actually available for the FX Nytros. Does yamaha contact the customers to get these updates done ?

I'd start with your dealer to be sure any necessary updates have been done on your machine before you got it?

How about the possible wire rub thru?
I just bought my 08 Nytro a few months ago and I'm looking over everything that needs to be looked at.
Did you have any problems with the "We Left Boot Syndrome"?

Check the stickies. There is one there that lists most problems and fixes.
The wire rub is on the clutch side. As I recall, the stickie post has pics. Easy fix, no need to bring it to the dealer.
Wet foot syndrome, go to your dealer and get part number:
8GL-2197B-00-00 PROTECTOR, FRAME
Fixes wet foot on an 08.
