Ya secondary is wound tight and i can definately see it slipping in the primary. I fixed it on my vector by going to the smaller rollers. I hate working on sleds when i should be riding them!!!

So I am still fighting my clutching on this thing. I have made some changes to the sled. I am now running a 162 in it instead of the stock track. I did gear it down to a 19 when I did that. I have noticed that when I take off from a stop it flashes to about 8500 then pulls back down to 8100-8200. I also notice that the primary doesn't appear to be shifting all the way out. There is still about 3/4" of the sheave that is still clean. My track speeds on a pull are never above 33 mph in any kind of powder.
Should I try tightening up the secondary a little. Is it just shifting out a little too fast? I plan on riding this weekend so I would love to get some feedback that I could try. Mountains look to be getting at least 24" out of this storm!!!!!!

You will never get the belt to the top of the primary with some mods to the primary. You are truely back to changing the spring in the primary or taking some weight off.
I tried the smaller rollers and with this sled that is not the way to go. I am going to try the GWG and the stock weights as they are this trip. I definately do not like the secondary wound so tight. It defintately fights it in the powder. I will backing that off to 6-1

Your track speed actually sounds pretty good for your elevation on a N/A sled. I only get mid 30s to 40 in the powder and I ride 2-4000 ft in elevation.

I am wrapped to 80 right now on the secondary with a white spring. I would think that backing that off would hurt me even worse right now. Seems it would let it shift out too fast and pull the rpms down.
I am running the stock 8fs weight and gwg spring right now so I'll be interested to see how you do with the same setup. My last ride was over 10k so maybe I'll drop just a little weight and see how it runs and maybe play around with the secondary while I'm out on the mountain.
Thanks for the feedback.

I like the orange-silver-orange spring. I like the low engagement springs even more so if your running such light weights. Finishes 7 pounds higher for ya too.

I nailed the clutch today!! GWG primary, stock rollers, 8fs stock weights with 13.3s rivets all 3 and the secondary with stock spring wound to 6-2 I also had to shim the 3 back bolts to bring the belt up in the secondary. She pulled hard all day!! Long climbs was pulling a little over 40mph track speed. Very happy with the way it peroformed!!!

That's great to hear. I was going to tweak on my clutching a little last time out and then my brother wrecked my other sled an hour into the day
. Not only is the sled wrecked but that was probably my last chance to ride in really good snow. So I didn't get to really do much that way. I think that orange silver orange will be the ticket though. The sled was pulling around 36 so I thought that was good.
