I just upgraded last weekend from a SRX to a Nytro RTX (I am keeping the SRX because obvious reasons). The Nytro is a brand new 2013, after getting back from the UP yesterday and putting on 380 miles I was cleaning it up and noticed a little oil by the right foot well. So I pulled off the panels and there it was, the chain case dipstick was just laying under the chain case, there was really no lube in the chain case at all. I didn't really notice anything when riding, and I don't know when it came out. I didn't pull the chain case cover yet, I wanted to see what the dealer had to say first. I was just curious of your guys thoughts on damage?

Hard to say without pulling the cover off, so it spins freely and doesn't make any noise?

I took the belt off, and it seems to spin freely with no noise. I did notice if you grab the secondary it has forward and aft play (might be normal). I should also mention when I picked it up a guy at the dealer took out the chain case plug to show me how to check it (I am guessing it never got tightened back up).

Thanks

Movement in the clutch is norm its the reverse gear...that's what I would say the chain case plug never got put back in at dealer... I don't think there is any thing to worry about.....I would let the dealer look at it so its on record

If it was me I would insist the dealer drain the chaincase while you are there to see how many ounces come out.

If it is less than 80 % you have may have a problem.

What you can do yourself is check the chain tension. If you have to adjust it in more than 3/4 of a turn to get it finger tight, you likely have a problem.

Buddy just had a chain case issue caused by a bad seal dealer installed. Many hundreds to repair. [chain, 3 gears, bearings, seals etc + labour]

bigest problem will be from heat and the best way to see is to adjust the chain and see if it stretched out real bad. most likely it will be okay but you need to go back to that dealer and say what happened here. with out pulling the cover and seeing if anything is blue you will never know for sure.
