I want to install the Hygear torsion spring spacers on my 07 MTX but can't figure out how to get them on.
I got the pinch-bolts out on either side but the axle they hold in won't budge. Without knowing if I have to take any other bolts out first I don't want to start hammering on anything.

You talking about the drop arm? It sometimes rusts in place onto the shaft. You might need to spread the hole a bit where the pinch bolt goes by hammering a punch or screwdriver into the slot. If that doesn't work, maybe a gear puller or slide hammer might do it.

So the shaft that the torsion spring spacers mount on does slide out once the two pinch bolts have been removed? Is there a particular side it should be pushed out on?

Unless you remove the idlers, you don't remove the shaft itself. There are set screws that hold the idlers.

I don't think I understand. Sorry, I'm probably looking at this the wrong way or something.
Do you mind writing out a quick step-by-step how to?
Right now I've got the pinch bolts out and nothing will budge but if I don't slide that whole shaft out I don't see how the torsion spring spacers go in since they won't slide in from the outside due to the diameter of the inside shoulders.

I found this post with instructions. Pretty straightforward:
Hygear Torsion spring spacers
IIRC, the shouldered part goes on the outside of the spring. Didn't they come with instructions?
My son has a set on his Phazer that came with it. I'll try and get a pic of them.

Thanks for taking the time to help me with this!
There were no instructions with mine.
I went out last night and took another look and I figured it out. I realized that I needed to remove the aluminium arms with the pinch bolts in them from the tunnel then from the shaft to get the springs off the shaft. They are not budging with hand tools but a quick hit with an impact wrench on low should free up 9 years of sitting without doing any damage. They are going back together with anti-seize of course. Having grown up in Quebec where they use salt on the roads I learned fast that all fasteners take something either anti-seize or thread locker, you never put anything together dry unless it's specified by the manufacturer (I also learned to curse anyone who doesn't follow that rule, especially if they built or owned a vehicle before me!).
As far as the shoulder goes, there are two, a large diameter shoulder and a small diameter one. I was assuming the larger diameter shoulder goes inside and the smaller diameter shoulder outside? If I'm wrong on that it would also explain why I've been thinking I have to get the whole shaft and springs apart as opposed to simply getting those arms off the end of the shaft.

Once you get that drop arm off, you will be able to remove the spring. I'm pretty sure the larger shoulder goes on the outside. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily today so I wasn't able to have a look at it.
Possibly a two jaw gear puller might be able to get that arm off.
