Well I got my vector stuck 4 weeks ago in 20" of fresh powder.. I was turning around on a hill side when I lost control and slipped down the grade... I was verrrrrrrrry stuck....Here I was , 56 years old and not all that healthy when it comes to lifting... I was next to a road so I desided to wait up too 30 minutes before calling my son-inlaw.. Only 2 minutes went by when a car came up over the hill. Needless to say I stood in the middle of the road waving.. Thank heavens a young, strong man asked if I needed help.. He was not a sledder and to his amazement he said, I didn't think sleds ever got stuck. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. So he grabbed my ski loop, I gave her the gas.. Did this three times before she popped out.. I gave him a high five and went on my way.. This is the first time I've been stuck in 22 years.. It happens to all of us I guess. MM.

The only time I notice my Yammy is heavy is when I have another melted down ski-poo on the back attached with a toe rope. Happened four times last season. Pulled one Yammy home because it fell through the ice and ingested water. Had it back up and running that night and still going strong(700 mountain max).

THe doo boys are indenial...... I know I am a former REV owner. If we ever get snow and they release the Exciter 125hp, in the Phazer chassis. There will be a whole different tune singing if it is released. That's the hole Yamaha still needs to fill, the 600 two stroke class. The vector just does not cut it. They need a 4 stroke 2 cylinder @125hp two shut those f&*&*# up and be as light as the phazer. It will come.

I got stuck in the deep s#!t West of Hurley lst year, and it took 6 guys to get me out. I was only about 15 feet off of the trail, But even after getting yanked and dug out, the doo and Polairis guys all wanted to trade me sleds on our way back to town.
The sound and look of the Apex have always been appealing to lookers.

Hey, has anyone else noticed in studying that Maximum Sled list that the F1000 LXR 2 stroke with electric start is actually HEAVIER than their 4 stroke 1100cc Jaguar by 11 pounds? It's all fuel though...12.2 gallons in the former, 9.4 gallons in the latter...
But still...how wierd is that? Looks like Arctic Cat is starting to build some serious BEEF into their machines... even the 2 strokers.
Here's the link to save everyone from looking for it:

I agree, but those boys at DOO-Talk sure don't believe it. They make up #*$&@, just to make the DOO sound better.

Numbers can be twisted in any way people want. Frankly I don't think the Mach and Apex are in the same category...regardless of the 1000cc size. Based on HP I feel their 800 Powertek is the closest competition to Yamis 150 hp sled. Same for comparing Cat's 1000 2 stroke...apples to apples would be their 800 in terms of HP.
So if we look at it that way, and IMO electric start is a NECESSITY on a 4 stroke, but an undesirable (my opinion obvoiusly) heavy option on a performance 2 stroke sled...I would NEVER order it on one personally. And reverse on the 2 strokers is weighs abou 4 ounces for a switch, while we're stuck with clunky heavy gears to make 4 strokes beep. So given all that, there's still generally a 70 lb weight gap between the 150 Yami's and the 150 hp 800 Powertek Doos. But the Cats have indeed gotten fat, especially in this twin spar chassis.
So here's how I personally would twist these numbers:
800 Renegade 597 lbs, Attak 666 lbs.
Blizzard 800 576 lbs, Apex ER 647
My opinion is that Polaris is the light weight champions within their HP class (which is admittedly quite low these days), with Doo close behind, so IMO there's absolutely nothing wrong with those camps bragging. Cat's are getting rather fat so things are probably eerily quiet over there. And Yamaha is the champ in developing the highest performance/lightest weight 4 strokes and they've earned the right to brag about that class.
It just totally cracks me up that people actually get a bit worked up over this sort of stuff! Didn't Mom ever teach them that if you ignore someone that doesn't shut up, they'll eventually go away? And if you continue to defend yourself and whine and cry, they'll KEEP on teasing you?
I personally love this sort of stuff...it's great fun playing devil's advocate. And I will never understand this fierce brand loyalty that so many people seem to posess. It's as though we have 4 PEOPLE that we personally know building and designing our sleds, rather than 4 HUGE IMPERSONAL INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES who frankly could care less about each one of us as an individual, starting exactly 1 second after they have our cash.
And remember Mom's lesson...if you ignore me, I'll eventually go away...

I see you have the low windshield still on. If you ride like that all the time there isn't any need for a taller one.

Yamaha has done an excellent job of shedding pounds...and who cares what the doo boys think. I don't, it sorta bothers me that people are so insecure that they bash on others..but whatever. How many of you even considered the weight when you bought you sleds. It never crossed my mind..I wanted a sled that I could run WOT on every lake and never give the engine a thought.
Every sled has it's strong points and weak points...Yamahas are SLIGHTLY heavier but have all the advantages of a 4s engine....Rev's are easier to load into your pick-up truck (it still takes 2 guys though ) and some people feel that outweighs the ring flaking . Look...I bashed too!!
