I just got back from the U.P... and when i got there it was basically frozen Snow with Ice chips on top..
My sled accelerated unreal!! It pulled 110 in a blink of an eye on the trail and once i held it till 119 and still SLOOOWLY climbing..
My Warrior is still all stock except the Stage two clutch kit..NO STUDS!!
Once it snowed later on in the day...It was back to normal.. topping out at 105 in snowy conditions!!
Trails were great.. If you are heading up... Have fun...There was NO ONE up there...It was awsome!!
We rode 303 miles in 2 days... 97 the first day and 205 the second!!

Whats the best speed you've seen with warrior? Are you behaving skittish at high speeds for fear of life or are you giving it for speed? Is that trail-only speeds or are you doing 119 on a lake? My snowy lake average with 144" ripsaw is 115, was topping out at ~126 in perfect conditions, *at 10900 rpm* (looses over 6 hp by overrevving that much). I've never held it to over 100 on any trail for fear of life.
I'm envious that you found snowy trails. I've been confined to the lake for two weeks now :x

Between my two warriors ive held it to the wood serveral times OVER 2 miles and only this time did i see over 105..
My old warrior saw a best speed of 116 on snow covered road.. and 105 on the trail...
My new warror is about the same..seeing 105 on the trail and on icy trail it saw 119... I HELD IT FOR A LONG TIME!! spinning 10,500=10,600..
even the slightest amount of snow really slows this sled down!!

Hmm.. must be a combination of the gearing, the approach angle, and the track length (, and maybe the silver spring). The approach angle will really do it to you in deep snow.
I know that you can get that thing going faster if it burns enough.

Ive tried 4 different clutch setups.. My latest has got me back on the OE secondary spring and helix... It definitly works better than what i had..
The silver spring bogged badly in deap snow.. But the stuff i ride on in the trails is only 1-2 inches deap!!
I often wonder if someone is pullin my chain when they say there stock warrior gets 130-135 (dreammeter) on the lakes!!

I doubt it, its tough to get that even on a stand. Silver spring is good for hardpack, white is good for deep. I wouldn't look at the clutching for top end, just as long as its spinning somewhere near 10300 and isn't slipping, the clutching should be fast. I would think about gearing it up, and (as an experiment), try strapping the rear suspension far down (effectively gives you a very shallow approach angle), and loose. You *should* be able to do faster than me with the skid strapped down, since your track is shorter.

I saw 117mph (dream meter) on hard pack/ice last weekend while checking out new cooler on the warrior. I have stage 1 clutch with 162 studs & secondary at 80 deg. I was racing a modified Polaris 800 jetted, piped, team clutch, primary clutch machine trued, different weights & studded.
I beat him to 90 mph & then he passed me & got about 5-6 sled lengths ahead of me & my speed increased & we stayed to-gether.
We radared both sleds & they had the same top end. 109 mph.
Interestingly enough his speedo read 115 when mine read 117.
He said his speedo may have read more but its hard to get an exact reading with an anlogue speedo at those speeds
Add a bit of snow 1-3 " & my top end drops down a lot.
Still getting 18-21 MPG & NO oil burning!!

I've seen mid 120s on the speedo. This is with clutch work and I'm spinning 190 studs too. A little snow or even a bump here and there will slow you down quite a bit.
I tried running the stock helix and spring with hh's again this weekend, but prefer another setup I have with a different helix and spring.

I've seen 126+/- on the dream meter with 2" to 3" of snow on a lake. This is with Matt's clutching updates with the ECP kit. It accelerated very quick up to the mid teens and then climbed to the mid 120's. I believe all the top end issues with the ECP Kit was due to clutching.
This fricken thing is awesome... I love it!!! All the boys were very surprised when they rode it as well... I swear every time someone who is on the bubble about buying one of these things either buy one or are ordering one for next year after they have rode one...

122 on the speedo on a lake. 144 golddiggers, about 1500 miles. Stock clutch and everything else.
Easily beat a stock Pol 800 from standstill, roll-on, mid and top end. ZR 800 beat me off start, but then I pulled him mid and slowly crawled past. Got crushed by a Firecat 700, but he wasn't close to stock. Wouldn't really tell me what he'd done for mods, but I've run other F-cats before, they usually get me low end, but this guy killed me off the start by 8 - 10 sled lengths. We ran about same top end, but he pulled me everywhere. Made me realize that unless I'm willing to do some clutching, I should stick to carving trails and leave the lake racing to the guys who like modding their sleds.
As far as trail riding, I rode with an SRX two weeks ago. This guy's probably the best trail rider I've ever seen. The RX-1 was awesome on wider, faster trails, he couldn't match the acceleration, but the SRX was better in tighter, twistier trails. We switched sleds, he was incredibly impressed. He didn't want to get off. He's been riding mostly yammies for 20 years. My impression of the SRX was that the RX-1 definitely had more pull everywhere, but he was running without pics.

We had some awsome conditions to lately, last friday went for a ride and managed to get 200kph (124mph) on the dreamer, the gps read 179kph or 111mph. This is a 121" 03, with heal clickers, and silver secondary spring, nothing else done to it, stock jetting, needle setting and airbox and gearing. Hopefully we'll have enough snow to get a couple more rides in, this winter has been great here.

I'm sure everyone already knows this, but our dream meters are off by a good 10% to 15%! I believe there was a blurb about this in the Spring issue from Snow Tech magazine. But, I have checked my MAX speed with a GPS and when the digital was showing between 110 and 115, the GPS was showing top speed of 99.9.....geez, didn't even break 100!

That's right about the speedo, but they are all comparable. Comparing yamaha to yamaha doesn't really matter. If you compare speeds to another brand then you need gps or radar.

Typically, 121" is off by 13 mph on the absolute top end. The longer the track is, the closer to reality you should get. There tends to be about a 10% slippage between the track and the ground, which you can observe if you study the track pattern on the ground after making a run.
