I have a set off my summit and I am looking at the possibilty of installing on my nytro. From the looks, I got my doubts if you can install the rail style.

I just mounted the Hartman ski mounted ice scratchers on my sled. I mounted them on the back part of the skis so they wouldn't interfere with anything and the look like they will be unloading right onto my slides and with a quick turn of the steering I should be able to direct the snow/ice all the way over to the middle of my track. Really nice quality and very easy to install.

Re: Ice scratchers
Are you sure that works??? When I tested that on my XTX the top Wheel hits the ICE scratcher when bottoming out in the garage....
pip said:Here's where I mounted mine, they barely fit.
They're RSI brand.
Sorry about the picture quality, I was holding the pieces, while taking the picture.
My shocks are being re-valved, this week.(SO the skid is disasembled)

I've got nearly 1000 miles on it so far, no issues have been observed.

Daranello,
I'm riding the XTX. You are correct as to the alignment to the upper wheels. I'm embarassed to say I didn't notice, when I installed them. I can say there are NO witness marks indicating the wheels & the scratchers have interacted. I will recheck the the clear when my shocks come back Wednesday. EIther I have a problem I didn't notice or the shocks limit the travel and the two don't touch.
THanks for the tip!

Re: ICe scratchers
Get the lower bumper on the rail to contact the upper spring...at that point the upper wheel may hit the scatcher

Re: ICe scratchers
Daranello,
You were 100% correct the scratchers are hitting, no damage (yet) they are coming off ASAP. When I put it all back together, I'll try & find a new spot & contact RSI...Maybe a different bend???
Thanks!

I have the scrachers mounted same as PIP. No issues yet.
Guy's one thing to remmember, has the suspension compresses. The track moves up and away from the upper rear idler wheels. So when the suspension bottoms out, the wheels are no longer being driven by the track. If they are still rotating, they are simply freewheeling, if they do contact the scratcher.
Out west, most all of us mount our scratchers this way without any problems, you should be fine.

Why would the track move away from the upper wheels?
