I have a set of ice scratchers similar to the ones in the link below and I am going to put them on my skis instead of my skid becaise I have the ZX2. I saw a thread here about this same thing but can't seem to find it now. I am wanting to replace the ski bolt with a longer 7.25" one so I can install the scratcher on the bolt but I can't find a bolt long enough. I have some 3/8" stainless rod that I can thread each end and make it work but would the stainless be strong enough. Are the ski bolts just a grade 5 bolt or are they grade 8.

You might find some arm pivots bolts that will work......

i would NOT MOUNT THOSE SCRATCHERS ON YOUR SKIS , i RUN THEM ON THE RAILS and they work maybe too good because the ice chunks they toss at the rider behind me HURT... i would and do run CABLE SCRATCHERS LIKE TRIC ... UP FRONT HANGING OFF FRONT STABILIZER BAR AND THEY WORK GOOD and you can reverse with them down ....not so with the ones in your link. i have the spring type on my rails for real bad conditions . my 2 cents

I put those style scratchers on the skis of my gf apex and on my attack and I wish I never had bought them....pure junk! Wore down the tips real quick...like around 400 miles,( was up in gaylord and mackinaw city last week) and snow conditions was good but trails started to get beat on Saturday. And it only takes one time to forget they are down when you back up or get stuck.....and trust me it will happen....they will be toast!! I will be going with the cable style next time....fo sure! Good luck!

Looks good sorenson. Maybe I will instal them where you did. I was going to instal them with a longer ski mounting bolt.
I realize that this type of scratcher may not be the best but it's what I have right now and I will try them. The cable scratchers look like the may be better, for backing up any way.

Is that a bushing you ran through your ski or just a bolt?
Just thinking, without the bushing, the hole may oblong?
