To me, that is the best place for them as the snow/spray gets the sliders right from the front of the sled, not half way back.
Do the ones your bought bolt directly up or did you have to do any type of modification to install them?
Any pics of your set up?
Thanks

we use the rails..
have a pair on the wifes and my 162..drove 1700 ks so far this year..on trails mostly.and my wifes look new stil..mine i figure another 1700..unless i stay off the trail more..and we use our sctachers on the trail all the time...i think the rails is the best..the snow gos right into the suspention and then is whipped around in the track..our sleds are always full of snow..and they make no difference in mileage..just be sure you dont have too much presure on them..this will cause them to snap..i drilled a hole on the rail for the bolt and the end ..this gave it the right presure on the snow..and when not in use they just go over the rail out of the way...heated and cooled our slides to cure them too.. ..this also made a big difference..they need this..that is why some people say they ware for 50 ks..some say 100 ks..and so on..this is because the things are not cured..but if you cure them first..its no ware...we put snow on to cool them..then ride 10 ks and put snow on..repeat for 3-5 times depends on temp outside..then ride 30 ks and do this 2 or 3 times..the distance depends on really how much the snow is melting in your track..like steel.. heat them.. then cool..this will make them harder.one of my friends has a sled with over 5200 ks on the same set..and they still look good..scratchers and cure them..my first pair went for under 300 ks..wheels just a bandaid.had five on each side..but only 2 now..its lack of snow is the problem.and on a hard packed trail you just get dust .not snow sprayed on like scratchers.

I think i'm going to try Hartmans ski mounted ones this season...they send the ice/snow to the front of the skid..and then just hook up on the ski...$58

I put mine on the skis, much better. Tried them on the suspension, couldn't get them fit correctly. I think being on the skis, being more up front, does a btter job.

whether they are on the ski or suspension, you have to re-hook them for reverse.

SlideKicks aren't really made to go on the skis, they were made for the skid.
I'm going to get a set of the Hartmans for the skis also. Between the two, that should take care of it.

Nick, sorry if I already asked this?
Just curious if you have used your slidekicks yet and if so, do they kick up enough ice/snow located where they are?
Could they be installed closer to the front of the skid or is that about the only place?
Been thinking of the Hartmans as well but don'e see anything in his link about shipping to Canada?

Irv,
You can see the whole skid, there is no room to move it further ahead, or I would have done it......LOL
