Is anyone running scratchers on a 2011 vector LTX ? If so, what kind and where did you mount them. I bought a set of RSI rail mounted spring type because they work real well on my sons switchback, but should have looked at mounting location first. No good spot without the scratcher ending up just ahead of the rear wheels which won't do much good. I looked at the running board mounted style, but have mounting issues with the heat exchanger. Any and all ideas appreciated.

Here's where I put them on my 2014 Vector LTX. These are Duraflex scratchers. I'm using the hook as the scratchers will quickly wear a groove in your rails. I personally don't like that but that's me. You can see the groove in the rail. THis was after 1 season of use.
FTI - the Mod's will ask you to put your location in your profile (I think).

Ive got the same duraflex install as above on my Vector and had no problems. On the Apex I'm trying them on the ski's using the mount Barn of Parts made. Due to lack of snow Ive had the Apex out once but they worked nicely.

Just MO....rail mounted scratchers throw snow/ice where it is needed.....in the tunnel. Ski mounted ones seem to throw a lot of snow everywhere. Not saying it's bad but......
99% of the time I run only one scratcher down. More than I need as I have a digital engine temp gage and as soon as I put it down the temp drops to 162F and stays there no matter what. In hindsight I could have bought two scratchers and used one on both of my Yamaha's.

Thanks for the info guys. It looks like I will go with the rail mounted cable style. I looked at the ski mount from barn of parts, but I think it puts the scratcher too far from where I need the lube. I would be interested in how well they work. Do they put the spray where you need it.

We use the Stright Line Cable's...I found them better then Duraflex and RSI for sure... My Attak with my big butt put some weight on the sliders... my wife on the Vector LTX not so much at all.. but they throw snow real well and are indestructible it seems.. Mounted them far forward near the wheel there is a bolt in the frame.. I enlarged the hole just a bit to take the 3/8" bolt..
I have a new set of RSI for free is someone what's them. They are horrible... I tried so many times...backing up is only half the issue.. in use they bend badly..
