I was wondering what the correct idle rpm is for an 05 vector? I have recently cleaned the carbs and also rodded out the pilot jets. nothing seemed overly dirty, but when i set the idle at 1500 it has a really bad bog when i lightly hit the throttle. I originally had the throttle cable to tight and i backed off the tension. Now the thing will rev up with the slightest pressure from my thumb, even before the slack is out of the throttle cable. Should I pull off the carbs again and try cleaning again?

I think 1500 is a little high although the specs say 1300-1500. I normally set it between 1300-1400. After cleaning the carbs you should sync them.

while you have them apart change the 45 pilots to 50 set fuel screws 1 3/4 to 2 to get rid of that bog at take off

Sled has a little over 5000 miles on it. I have gone thru the entire sled this year as I purchased it the end of last season. The thing was really neglected maintenance wise, but looked nice. I just finished rebuilding the rear skid, new exhaust donuts, front suspension bushings, cleaned both Primary and Secondary Clutches and "dishwashed them". Belt could be replaced, however this bog is while reving it off idle with no belt on the machine (skid isn't in yet).

One thing I need to check yet is that the choke cable isn't to tight and on slightly. Mixture screws were set at 2 turns out when I cleaned them. All jets were pulled and carb cleaner sprayed thru and followed with lots of compressed air. I also ran a small wire thru the pilots just like I do on my Warrior.

I will report back in a few days and if the few things I need to check yet don't solve the problem I will pull the carbs again and reclean.

Can you get these thru the dealer, or do you get them at another retailer?

You are revving it without the belt on? I wouldn't do that, unless you want your primary clutch to engage and explode from impact!

you can get pilots from a dealer but now i am finding 1 3/4 is to much i am going to adjust screws down more. put the belt on if running sled.

Will do guys! I didn't rev it to the point of engagement after the first time I did it. Made a loud noise when the primary slapped together. Ordered pilots from the dealer, they will be in Friday. Rear skid is all in and ready to go! Choke cable was set correctly.
