Rear idler wheels have cracks in them around the bolts. About the thickness of a fingernail and an inch long. time to replace? What are you replacing them with? cheapest option? Thanks.

As the stock idlers used to have bearings built into the wheel, I had changed them out as the bearings became rough...I also upgraded to four wheels versus three.
Due to the high slide wear on the Nytros, I opted for a larger diameter wheel and found a great replacement in the form of an Arctic Cat rear idler wheel. They have the same bearings and I think the wheels are 1/4 inch larger in diameter. I changed the other idlers to larger ones as well...eliminated slide wear for me.

While I have excell wheels in my skid and they seem to have eliminated the excessive slider wear they do not replace the rear axle wheels.
If you are refering to the wheels on the rear axle having cracks I would suggest yamaha's newer spoked wheels with the bearings that can be serviced/replaced.
If the wheels have cracks in them I would change them out as to not loose it on the trail or have any downtime. The season is always way too short!

The new style Yamaha spoked wheel price includes the bearing. FYI.

I am having the same problem as well. I need a new rear idler as well. I have an 09 xtx though. Im having trouble finding the spoked wheels for it. Any site that matches products to your sled I cant find any spoked wheels. But in the yamaha accessories catalog the spoked wheels say they fit all sleds up to 09. Also what the hell bearing do i need for the rear axel guide wheel. Is it 6004 or 6005? does it matter? thanks. Ride Hard

Dumb question. I see there are 8 wheels with the XTX Excell kit. Where do the last (2) go???

I think you are looking at the accessories. You NEED stock wheels for the rear from 2012 (I think). The picture in the parts description show the spoked ones. I can look for the part number as I have replaced my solid ones with the newer spoked ones, just for looks.

I just picked up my Excell wheels and the extra set will go in different locations depending on the year of your machine.
