2014 Yamaha SR Viper LTX
Well, after a 8 year retirement from the sport, I decided to make a come back. After doing a little research and looking over my brothers new 2015 Viper I came to the conclusion this is the sled for me (last sled owned was a 2006 Apex). I decided to go used to save some $$$ (wife's suggestion) and found this beauty on Craigslist. I borrowed a friends trailer, skipped work Friday (wife too) and made the road trip to Wisconsin from Michigan to pick it up. Needing riding gear also, I bought all new FXR riding gear at 50% off. Here it is....2014 SR Viper LTX SE

Don't let you wife ride it or you'll be looking for another one!!

They are a great ride, and you LTX is off trail worthy as we'll. I took mine places today that I wasn't sure it would go. Rode with a group of turbo XTX's and as long is I respected the fact that I am not turbo'd and am only running a 1-1/4" track I didn't get myself into anything I couldn't drive out of. I never got it stuck and we were climbing in the trees in 2+ feet of powder.

Congrats.

I could hardly sleep last night. Too stoked!!!

I was undecided on a XTX vs. LTX, praying to the man above that I made the right decision. Too late to look back now. LOL! In the future I will more than likely get new skis and 1 1/2 inch track (along with some suspension work) to help off trail. My brother has a stock 2015 XTX for comparison. Another pic........

No comments about the sled. Or how you liked your first trip out

A quick review.

1. The ride is a little too harsh.
2. It has a little push in the turns.
3. Pulls like a freight train. (seen 100mph for a quick second on a plowed road)
4. It's a Sexy looking machine on the snow.
5. The seating position is awesome and the transition to standing is great also.
6. The windshield is too short.
7. Overall I love the machine, but it has some quirks to work out.

Get two 6" carbides and tighten limiter strap one hole if still stock will fix push . Suspension takes a bit of adjusting, but your right seat position is the best I've ever sat in.

Curtis is right about the 6" carbides in and out. I'm running 6" shapers in and 6" woodys out. Too much bite on hardback. I am in longest hole on limiter, and have about 3/8" preload on the center shock. Floats are at 70 psi. Rear suspension stiffness can be cured with revalving. Lots of posts on TY about revalve. Even on soft settings I am too stiff. Skid goes in tomorrow for revolve.

Hey guys, it's a 2014. The skis are single runner with some sort of "ski saver" mounted on them. The sled does not dart at all and very easy to turn compared to my brothers 2015. I see new skis and a suspension re-valve in the off season. Currently the rear suspension springs and coupler block settings are full soft. I will look at the limiter strap and FTS spring setting next weekend. Over all, the sled will be a keeper and I am happy with it. It just has a couple bugs to be worked out that's all.

I would also like to add that riding gear has come a long way in 8 years. My new FXR/Yamaha Jacket and Bibs along with Klim boots are absolutely the best riding gear that I have experienced. Worth every penny.
