I am thinking of buying a RX1 Mtn or a mtn Viper sled and am looking for input for those with experience. Are the Rx1's that much heaver in the front end and how do they handle on and off trail? Will they stay up in the powder? Any input would be much appreciated. As u can tell I presentently ride a SXR 700 and have very little experience with mtn sleds.
Thank u in advance

adjust the limiter straps and the ski's come out of the snow in the powder. On the 03-04 RX-1 MTNs, if you let off the throttle the front end would dip due to thin ski's and engine braking

the 05's with the new mountain ski wont dip at all in the snow. They will just float on it perfectly.

Mine does great off trail. its not the greatest hillclimber, but it will climb some sick hills. Sidehilling is pretty easy. Boondocking through the trees isnt too tough either. Its a great all around sled for powder.

Compared to a Mtn Viper the RX1 Mtn is considerably heavier in the front end. Not as nimble and light going through the trees and definitely takes some getting used to. I know, I came off a MM700. If I were you I'd take a serious look at a Vector Mtn. It feels MUCH lighter than a RX1.

I second that one on the Vector!! I got tp ride with with a Turbo Vector this weekend and all I can say is HOLEY $*%T That thing kicks a$$ Much more nimble and lighter feeling ..... and the wife loved it !! cool now I can get a back up sled and the wife will think it is hers!! :4STroke:

Vector is much lighter and feels better. Tho adding the new wider mt skiis to the Rx improves the front diving. They are heavy, but that just means you have to get used to them, and learn to drive them a bit differently. Each year they continue to improve them so you might want to wait til the 06 units come out and see what mods the factory does to them. They are radically different from the two stroker units and you will find that they will make your hair stand on end when you squeeze the throttle.
