I have an Innovative A/F guage. It worked fine for 600 kms, then started reading erratically. So I replaced the sensor and took it out for 1 ride. It worked fine. Then I started it up today a week later and it's falsely reading high.
Even if I adjust it so rich it will barely idle the A/F won't change from around 14.
I took it around the block and it's still not really moving much from around 14-16.
Any other ideas on what could go wrong with this unit?

you need to do a free air calibration

I forgot that these Innovatives need to be calibrated. I bought it used so I didn't do the initial setup.

Do you know the procedure for the calibration or where I can get the info?
I guess I can give the company a shout there.

So I did the free air calibration. Then when I started it up the gauge starts at low numbers then goes to 16.2 and stays there no matter what I adjust my fuel to.
The A/F is only moving from 16.2-16.3 even when riding around the house here.
I sent a message to Innovate, hopefully they can help me out.
By the way I'm running the LC-1 unit.

347 strokin: Mine did the same thing, except it was idling in the 16's and 17's. At least thats what the Innovative was showing. Depending on what day it was it would idle in the low 14's once in a while.

I changed grounds from seperate to combined and back and forth. All of my wiring was checked and rechecked.

I have a rear mount turbo, with two bungs. One before the turbo, and one after the turbo. I went as far as getting a used AEM gauge and installed both gauges at the same time. The AEM constantly showed 13.3- 13.7 at idle, while the Innovative was anywhere from 14's to 17's. I still wasn't smart enough to scrap the Innovative, so I sold the used AEM and bought a new AEM. It still reads constantly in the 13.3-13.7 range. I ran all this past winter with the AEM and it has never missed a beat. The Innovative LC-1 is in a box on the shelf. It did not matter what bung they were in either.

I did free calbrations, and change sensors. The Innovative also gave me lean midrange readings while the plugs looked fine.

I'm kind of in the same boat you were. I've heard enough bad things about these units and keep messing around and spending time/money here and there but I'm still trying to not part with it.

I probably should just pick up an AEM. This is what I was running on my TNytro and it never missed a beat and was simple to work with.

Innovate gave me a list of things to try out so I'll give it a try before I scrap it. ;)!
