Hi Guys and Girls,

I need to get some luggage for my wifes sled. Anyone have any of the Yamaha oem saddle bags? How do you like them? How much do they hold? Do they damage your sled? I have attached a link of the ones my wife likes and I hope someone else has them that can give me some input. My main concern is how they secure and if it is effective and if they rub alot which will damage the paint, seat, etc.

Thanks!

I have these & there has been no issues with damage. No markets on exhaust covers or seat. I also added the tank bag with the map holder & it holds a fair amount of items & does not get in the way. I had protective tape put on the tank to ensure it did not scratch the tank. All my regular required items are stored in the bag I added to the front nose cone (it holds a fair amount as well). The saddle bags hold enough for overnight trips (nice not having to carry the extra oil my 2-stroke buddies need). With the saddle bags on I have attached a knapsack to it for more storage for 3 day trips when needed. :tg:

Do you have any pictures of the tank bag? also the front bag installed?

The finned electrial unit in the front has to be moved when installing the front bag? is this true?

i use the yamaha sport touring saddle bags.not a ton of room but enough for spare cloths ,sneakers and bathroom stuff.what i really like about these is you get almost no snow/ice build up on them.

Packed enough in the saddlebags and tankbag for a week long trip in the UP. Put everything in ziplock bags and squeezed the air out. Fit fine. I carried as pair of loafers in the nose as well. Didn't even get wet or snowy LOL. Wife got me set of 40th bags for Christmas. She didn't know I had a black set already LOL.

The windshield bag is small but I like it for sunglasses and the cover for my GPS.

The tank bag size is pretty good and if it were any larger it would get in the way.

The rear saddle bags are nice for one or two nights at a motel maybe three nights if you took the very bare necessities.

I keep a pretty good first aid kit, hand and feet warmers, spare socks and gloves in the nose bag. I did not move the electrical thing, I just worked around it.

Thanks Brain

Nice shots

What's up with the finned unit under the bag? what is it? how hot does it get..? I thought I read a post were they moved it?

Jim

I believe it's called a rectifier & regulator assy. The post I seen they were saying to move it down to gain more room. I am not sure how hot it gets but the alternative location would still be under the bag so I left it were it was.

I purchased the "skins" rear bag which goes on the tunnel extension area.
it's nice added storage above and beyond the saddle bags.
