I'll check the bulb tomorrow if I get a chance, but, this may seem like an extremely stupid question but who knows, how would I know if the bulb is blown? Like is it a colored bulb or will I be able to see a broken wire inside it?

You can test it with an Ohm Meter, ... one test probe on the center contact and one on the metal case around it. Zero Ohm = good bulb. Infinite Ohm = Bad bulb.
Otherwise, just look for the filament in the bulb.
