I am stretching my 09 Nytro to 136 and have a tough time deciding on a track. Intense or Cobra. 90% fairly aggressive trail riding. Any thoughts?

I have found the Cobra to be a excellent track for the first thousand miles and then it looses stiffness in lugs resulting in lack of traction on trail. Go with a a stiffer lug track...

I've seen the same thing happen to three cobra's. Great out of the box but gets soft fast. Intense is a great track

I installed the intense track and find it has better traction then ripsaw on hard packed. Off trail im not to impressed, but im not used to powder riding and im still setting up my sled. I also hear the cobras are great tracks but very soft tracks and dont last long.

I have heard nothing but good things about the cobra and may purchase it myself if I keep my nytro

The cobra doesn't seem to hold up to the weight and torque of a nytro. My friends 1200 doo ate one up in a season as well. You could push the lugs right to the track with your thumb. Its just too soft and the lugs are too thin

I have a cobra track on my sled (when i bought the sled it came with it) it seems to be fine, but i did notice the lugs were soft.....I've ridden over 2,500 miles this year and haven't had a issue (knock on wood)

Had the Cobra last year and was not impressed by that track, this year switched to the Intense and am much happier now. Hooks up much better.

Also, since you are going to a 136", consider using the Star relocate kit along with 128"rail extensions. I did mine this year and is the best mod I have done so far.

sorry to hijack this thread , but i was looking at going 136 this summer and was trying to read about the star 128 kit but it's all in French.....does it change the track angle?

4,500 miles on my Cobra. It's a turbo cat take off so may be different but no broken lugs and really hooks up. Next one for me will be the 1 3/4" backcountry though....

Yes, it does lessen the approach angle. I will try to get some pictures of mine posted.Tyloooor said:sorry to hijack this thread , but i was looking at going 136 this summer and was trying to read about the star 128 kit but it's all in French.....does it change the track angle?

intense. Great hook up, light years better than the ripsaw. No exp with a cobra, heard good things. Really like my intense.

What's everyone's opinion on the intense track on hard packed trails? It has sharp edges which makes me think the 1.5 ripsaw may be better suited for that type of ridding which has angled edges
