Hello all, looking to set-up my fiancé with a sled to start riding. Is a 120 hp 3 cylinder sled too much power/ weight for a 5' 113 lb woman? Should I be looking only at a Phazer? Got my eye on a really nice shape Vector and just wanted some input from guys that have ever been in the same dilemma . Thanks in advance!

I had a rage which is just the earlier version of a Vector. I can attest that a young female, not old enough to be a fiancé had NO problem with the power. She is very close to your fiancé in size.

If you could, get an 08 or newer. Yamaha changed to the Vector to the Delta II chassis that year. I think the mono rides nicer than the torsion system for the average trail rider.
My kids 12, 14 and 16 had no problems driving my 08 Vector. My 10 yr old had to suffer with me on the back as she drove.

- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
According to the 07 fiche (VECTOR GT RS90GTW) I'm looking at the 07 had a Mono skid (good) , not the torsion skid (IMO junk). Personally I don't think the much hyped Delta Box 2 and DB 3 (with PS) handles any better than the DB 1. I have sleds with both the DB 1 (05 Vector) and DB3 (2014 Vector).
IMO...the sled's setup will dictate whether she is capable of turning it at slower speeds in mushy snow.
Just my .02

I would say yes. Get it for her.
My wife had a 07 Vector GT and she loved it.
She was 60 years old at the time & still has some residual effects from a stroke.

Thanks for the input guys! I will seriously consider the Vector in my pursuit. Not really considering anything but a Yamaha.

My wife tried a phazer once and hated it! Far too tippy for someone who just wants to cruise around on trails at a decent speed. She rides the warrior in my sig, and is far happier with it, even with the pro-action. (which actually isn't bad suspension for a trail machine)

They handle the same however, the db 2 has a much better adjustment cable for the monoshock 2 vs 1. Also if memory serves me correctly they made the W arms stronger to keep them from breaking constantly (could also be me riding rough vs the comfy trail machine).
If you buy one thats older then an 08 look at all the usual spots for cracks, rust, welding.
Also I agree with above comment about Phazer. If they just want to relax and cruise its not the right sled.
