Is there a place for a spare belt?

I just haven't had time to check much out, but is there a tool kit, and where does the spare belt go? I know the battery is under the seat, but that's about it!

Ok, found the cute little bag tool kit, but any ideas on a spare belt location? I'll look for a place tomorrow I suppose.

Thanks. I didn't see those little pouches at first, as I had paperwork in there, so found the kit, and I guess a belt can fit in there too. Or since my son will be on the apex, I might keep it on top of his belt guard...lol....that apex goes forever on a belt, so he won't need a spare, and the guys I ride with are now all yammy vector or apex, so they would have a spare for him if needed!

I bought one of the u-shaped clips that are on top of the Apex belt guard and fastened(riveted) it on the bottom panel below the clutches on my Sidewinder, nice out of the way place

Good idea. I have a few spare guards with them on top. Just need to find them!

You might want to re-think that one. IF you blow a belt, do you really want to risk messing up your spare ? Would it not be much safer to keep it in your bags which are mounted on the rear of your sled ?

The small bag on the tunnel is in the way for when you want a larger bag on, and it is riveted on so you can't swapped it out. The little bag is great if all you do is day trips. Once you want to add more space for overnight, I'm not going to pack my tools and belt with my spare clothing. So you need another location for a belt.

Knowing anything is possible, I don't see a belt under the clutches getting ruined by a blown belt, even a direct hit. Secondly, I have never 'blown' a belt unless wide open, shifted out. Last one was on the 03 rx1 in a big field with a really old belt, racing. Every other belt was felt, and cord debris seen well before blowing. But the yammys have been awesome on belt life, so a catastrophic failure with a good belt is slim, to me. If you race all the time, put it out back. Trail riders, under the clutch seems a good place.

There,s probably a good reason the aftermarket guys are building and selling aluminum pieces that are to be placed there to protect that area from blown belts.

My spare belt is strapped down under the clutches and partly under the motor. Not concerned about it being damaged by impact of blown belt. I don’t think it is comparable to blowing out of thin plastic to say the belt will be ruined. In the stock tunnel bag is contingency stuff and tools. Still room for packing on rack too.

Excell put their aluminum plate on mine. But the pan is stiff, thin plastic, and the belt is flexible, and is built like a tire.

anywhere in the belly is subject to destruction to a blown belt...

and whatever it gets ahold of gets pulled into the tornado....and then ejected...

Id never have anything in its direct path ....the places destroyed by the belt is from the oem clutch guard all the way around to the back where your knee goes against the plastic from the side panel...

under the motor fine....other than that....on top of the the oem guard...yes..

windshield or tunnel bag.......or if you run a smaller muffler in the extra space provided there..

anywhere it can be grabbed COULD be a big mistake..
