Have a '14 RTX that just had the chain case bearing disinnigrate. I was told there is a Jack shaft and bearing upgrade kit but I can't find the part number. Anyone have the part number(s) I need?
There is no "Kit" just have to decide if you want to go with 14/15 as you have now ,16 which eliminates the locking collar or 17up which eliminates the locking collar and Wobblebearing. You can get shaft and clutch side bearing and support as a assembly. Can also get 17 inner chaincase as assembly. Then need all the parts to put it together. FAQ has alot of info on subject. If 17 and newer setup was available I would have done that but my 16 setup has worked well over 16000 on now so about 8 on 16 setup. May switch to 17 this spring but I would probably buy inner case. Some guys have done without it and made a spacer or just not worried about the clip for case side bearing holding it tight.

Since it is apart I am going to do the 17 bearings. Shaft and chain case internals.

This one let go bad enough that when the ball bearings and carrier came out they caused a jamb up that broke the shaft the reverse gears are supported by in half. Don't know how that happened because there was no damage to any of the gears, chains or reverse actuator parts and the track never locked up.

No. I just found out that the flange in the chain case behind the jack shaft bearing is broke out as well from about the 3 o'clock position to the 9 o'clock position so I guess I get to replace the inner case now to.
Well then for sure go all 17 and up parts.No. I just found out that the flange in the chain case behind the jack shaft bearing is broke out as well from about the 3 o'clock position to the 9 o'clock position so I guess I get to replace the inner case now to.

Just sent a message to travis at BOP with what I need. He is parting out two Sidewinders which I believe will work right?
Sure will. Good thinking!Just sent a message to travis at BOP with what I need. He is parting out two Sidewinders which I believe will work right?
Only thing I cant remember is if inner chaincase has part of Turbo mount on it. Travis will know right away.

I guess I get to become a Viper mechanic expert after this endeavor. The only things I have not taken off the chassis so far is the front suspension, motor, and steering. Everything else has to come out to be able to get that fricken inner chain case cover out.
It's a big job but only bull work is the rear suspension and track. Get that over with first and put it back in the next day. Helps me. I forget the misery of previous day quickly!I guess I get to become a Viper mechanic expert after this endeavor. I checked the parts diagrams for 2017 Vipers and Sidewinders and the chain case assemblies are the same. Hopefully BOP has what I need but if they don't I can get everything new from Babbits fir only $430 which includes shipping.
