I jumped ship this year, but I still have one 07 rtx. Just wanted to say thanks to totally yamaha and everyone here for all the parts I sold and all the information. This site is second to none. Had a blast on my boosted yamahas, but needed a change. Heres the new customized adition to the stable.

Yuk get that ugly arctic scrap off of this site!

Just joking, nice sled....definitely will be able to see you on the trail!

What do you think of it? I was talking to a guy in Quebec that traded in his Apex on one and he told me to keep the Apex. He wasn't happy with it at all.

apex

Theirs things I like and things I dislike, but after the make over and making the fit and finish better and getting the bugs out, I like it. Handles and rides awsome. I do still miss my apex and have a special place for it that I will always remember. When I get on my 07 rtx it brings a big smile on my face every time. All in all I like it. Goes really good with the hyjacker for a pretty much stock trail sled. After 5 years of no change on the apex yamaha needs to step up. If they just changed the skis and bumped the horse power to 180 they would sell a crap load of these including one or two to me.

I'm not to sure about the esthetics, but i think it will ride very well..

I don't think i could go back to a 10 MPG sled with oil though...

:drink:

tel us more details, like how is the mpg compared to the apex, and is it more comfortable and all,it would be cool to have an honest comparison.

Nice paint job, but I think they are still ugly and their fit and finish is as sleds of the early 90's.. My buddy had to repaint his 07 F1000 and re decal it. Cost a 1000 bucks. No excuse for such poor quailty.. Plus, they never perform as advertised... You have to tweak them big time to get them to run.. How much do you have into that sled. Probaby a good 2000.00 Plus? Good Luck..

sled

BV enjoy your new sled, if we all rode yamaha's they would never make changes. you can check in with mike knapp he has running well. check back in with likes and dislikes. have fun, i have had a bunch of sleds
but for older rider the yamaha does me fine.

That actually looks pretty cool...let's call it a 'Joey Logano' special...lol.

I agree blurred vision. I too needed a change so bought a turbo Cat. This is the best site on the net bar none. I don't plan on leaving and will have a new Yamaha again when they release a hyper machine.

The Cat is not much to write home about stock. It could not outrun my Attak. With the hijacker a bit of clutching, it needs a torsion secondary setup right off the bat, it can leave it in the snow dust. The ride, handling and ergonomics is well beyond the Attak. I couldn't be happier after the tweaks I've done to it now. The Meth injection will be here by Friday and it will be a sweet 250 HP trail sled on pump gas all the time with it in place. Thus far, with the addition of dual carbides, my mileage has been around 12 MPG using ethanol fuel. Using the same fuel in my Attak would net me around 12.5, so it is very close on mileage. The Cat is a tractor, the RPMS stay nice and low and it is sneaky fast and very, very quiet. It took a while to get used to the sound of the twin after having the 4 Cyl. for so long. They sound like crap when they idle but gets better as you start moving. I wasn't happy when I first got it with the performance, but it's been a 180 degree turnaround since then with Boondocker installed, and the clutching tweaked. The Speedo is also dead nuts on if not about 1 MPH slow even. Now to get the methanol injection on so it can run big boost all the time and I'll be all set.

Look good , ride well , fast when set up !!

Just can't take the sound !!!

Are you guys on your second or third 200.00 belt yet?? Has your right foot burnt off yet?? Is the snow and snow dust from other sleds been scopped up and blowin in on clutch from the scoop on the left side panel ??Does your front hood flop free when rideing?? Does the sled dart like crazy ? Do your feet feel werid from the vibation on the running boards?? Is your snow flap bendind backwards let??I have 2 buddys that work for CAT and are driveing them and see the sleds that come back to the shop for work ..I no that all sleds are not prefect but some need alittle more loveing then others....As of the fastest sled on snow (like all the ads) i think not....-unless you pile a bunch of coin in it.....I do give CAT credit for aleast making a sled there riders want.. and that was a darn fast stock sled which will run over alot of stock sleds................. :rocks:
