JUST A NOTE TO ALL RX OWNERS!!

Man!!!! when reading this I had to check the browser to make sure it read ty4stroke and not dootalk. It's like an outsider posted. Ya he is excited about his new sled and used some words displaying very little tack! Oh well to each his own. Now my .02 cents. I held firm on my asking price on my 05 RX1 and sold it for 7,000 cash, then I did what any good consumer would do I paid off the loan and went and bought a GT 9,936.00 10300.00 OTD. I have to agree it's alot of change for a sled!!! But, will a turbo RX1 be as good a trail sled??? I think we all know the proaction (aka noaction) isn't the greatest and that a turbo makes a great lake racer. But, Gt stands for Groomed Trail, I would have to say for my application I like the Gt better than my 05 RX1. If my dealer wouldn't have put a complete new 06 suspension in, I feel some of the rear suspension would need replaced every year. Yes they are having some minor problems with the Apex's, but all easy fixes except handwarms. I hope I displayed enough tack as to not get bashed to much!! Maybe comparing you guys to dootalk participants was over the line, SORRY! LOL

IF you own a RX-1 or WARRIOR.. do not test ride a APEX OR APEX GT/RTX!

If you sold your RX-1 to your buddy or brother.... dont let them test ride an APEX..

I have had TWO 04 RX-Warriors and added a 13mm swaybar- C@A pro skis (8 inch carbides)and an ECP KIT and BBY's clutching and they were nothing short of awsome.. IMO..

But having just put on 276 miles on my new 06' apex GT... around the crapy trails by my house i must say one thing....

THE APEX IS WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY BETTER... its like having a F7 that handles like a ZR... with a JET Motor in it... It feels like someone took the boat ancher off the back of the old fourstroke!!

I really cant complain about the GT at all... Out of the box it is just plain awsome... Ya, i could probobly make it handle even better with a set of GOOD skis... but really it handles geat with the crappy OEM ones.. and maybe the rear spring could be a little stiffer to keep it from bottoming... But it really rides AWSOME!! And the Grips could work better (im sure Yami will recall them) But all that and i still Friggin love it...

Its the closest to a real sno pro race sled that yamaha have ever come up with... (and its a fourstroke)

IT ROCKS!! ;)!

I know. www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=20767&highlight=

Welterracer - Amen man.

I have both a '03 and a '05 RX-1. Apex outperforms them by far in any way. You can't make 03-05 ride like it, no way. You could only outperform it adding a turbo and ride lakes. In the twisties and big moguls apex is the choise. Yes I did ride the Apex GT proto for more than 50 miles in all kind of terrain.

Im not nocking any of your sleds... Like i said i really loved my Rx warrior.. My brother now owns it...

But if you ever rode a APex for more than 100 miles you would soon notice how great it really is..

I in no way meant this as a JAB to anyone or there sleds..

I was impressed with the RX... and now even more with the APex

So how about the Attack compared to the GT? Do you think the GT is better? And what if next year they come out with a GT Attack? What way would you go???

I think he stated it much better too, and sarcasm isn't going to help.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually still like my 05 RX-1 and I tried out my buddies Apex ER on the weekend too.

To top it off we lined up a couple of times and my 05 RX-1 smoked the Apex by many sled lengths each time. We didn't have a long run so he didn't have a chance to catch up.

The 05 RX-1 is no slouch and with the right updates it's just as fast and almost as comfortable on the trails (I'm going to add a couple of inches of foam to the seat and it should be even better).

Stock for stock, the Apex is everything the RX-1 was missing and more - but it's not enough IMO to warrant trading in an 05 RX-1 on yet.

Well, I think most of you took Brian wrong. He is just saying the Apex is so good, don't ride one unless you are ready to drop a lot of money because you will want to have one. I am sure I would love one, but instead bought jtssrx's brothers sled for way less money. I saved taking a bath on my 03 RX-1 (now the wife's sled with an M-10) and did not buy another first year sled. I will probably get one either next year or the year later. But this 04 RX-1 with an 05 seat, risers, 136" expert-x, C&A pro skis, ohlins up front, ECP kit, clutch kit and more is an awsome sled. I rode it for the first time last weekend and am a very happy sledder. I made the right choice for me. I am happy for Brian and everyone else who got a new one. I will in a year or 2.

My $.02............. :4STroke: :D

Thanks to this forum and Yamaha Canada I was lucky enough to ride the 06's in real conditions for a day. They are great and they are very different than the 2005's........BUT.......I still ended up buying a 2005 at a GREAT PRICE and I don't regret it one bit.

Next year you could probably post the exact same thread and simply change the years to 2006 and 2007. Last year the same stuff was said about the 2004's compared to the 2005's.

I'll let all you rich guys pay the depreciation on my sled for the first year then when you get the 2007 bug in April I will buy the 2006. :D

Well lets see! I bought the 98 SRX and it was the first year! Awesome sled! Still own it and won't sell it! Hmmm, I also bought the 2002 Viper! First year sled I do believe. Wow I still have it! It's never been back to the dealer I just add gas and oil and very little at that. Oh it's for sale because of the fact that I bought a "Oh" first year Apex GT. Wow Im a true blue Yamaha Test Pilot!!!Ye Ha!!!!!

Some of you guys are pretty brutal...I'm sure he was just awed and overwhelmed at how the sled performed and his feelings while riding it I'm sure were like OMG this thing is amazing and was just trying to convey his shock as to how much better this sled is than the older models and I'm sure it is and I for one am GLAD to hear that this sled is all that amazing! :yam: Because one day I will own one I'm sure ...either an Attack or a Apex-GT!

With me it would not matter I prefer to be warm and have a bit of wind protection . Just felt too much like a skidoo to me . I'll have to keep my RX1 untill somebody comes out with a 4 stroke that has a decent ridding position .
