It's done!

After reading your posts for over a year I finally decided to go for it. I did put my deposit on a new RX-1 2005. I was with my neighbor who did the same thing. Summer is going to be very long. Eventhough the candy red is the nicest color I went for the blue. I guess I am conservator.
It is tough to switch from one brand to the other after over 12 years of loyalty with one brand (Polaris). I am keeping my two other sleds for my wife and my kids (700 Classic 2002 and 500 Classic Touring 1999). I am tired of the smoke and the poor gas mileage that my Polaris were giving me (very reliable though except for my 96 Storm... no need to say much). Here is my sleds ownership history:
92 500 SP EFI
93 XLT Special
96 Storm 800
99 XCR 700
99 XCR 800
99 Classic Touring 500
2002 Classic 700
... RX-1 2005!!!!!
I just hope now that Yamaha will give a second year of warranty on the sled. I live in the Quebec City region (Val-Bélair). Buy the way I am 42 and I average between 3000 and 5000 miles per year.
Cheers!
Ray

Rafrech, Welcome aboard. I think you will love your new 4-stroke. I also switched to Yamaha last year after 20 years with Polaris. I stayed with Polaris for so long, because I never had any trouble with them. I decided to try a Warrior last year and loved it. I just traded it in on a 2005 RX1 ER in candy apple red.

Hope this summer will be a short one.

No regrets here

As with Convert I too am one of the first Polaris converts. My reason for switching after 15 years of riding Polaris was the reliability issues of my tripple mod SKS. It was reliable until mods started happening . Nobody makes a tripple (don't like twins) mtn sled but Yamaha
. Nobody makes a tripple (don't like twins) mtn sled but Yamaha . I decided to buy the RX-1 over the Viper because of the performance difference. I'm glad I did it too.

Welcome aboard Ray!

I'm also from VB and hope to meet you and ride with you next year!
Don't worry with the two year warranty you won't need it!

I did more than 7000 KM this winter with my Warrior and just put gas and ride with no problem whatsoever! You will love your RX-1!
Congrats Errol

ErrolYou guys are in for a real treat! I currently have an 03 rx-1 er and love it. Just ordered an 05 rx-1er turbo.

'CONGRATULATIONS' Rafreche, I orderd my first 4-stroke last week. 05 RX-1. I went from POLARIS to YAMAHA in 98. From all the research I did, I think we will be happy with them...Gary.
