just bought apex motor without pulser coil, is rx-1 one ok

This is my first time posting in this section, but not the last i guess.

Im doing an awesome swap, i just bought a almost new apex Engine, but it does'nt have the pulser coil.

The guy told me i can put one of my RX-1. Is that true ? or i will loose something ?

The '04 and '05 Rx-1 uses an 8FA-82310-01 coil.

The Apex uses an 8FP-82310-00 coil.

I would be willing to bet that the RX-1 coil would fit. But, I am not so sure it is the same coil.

You could call the Yamaha dealer, and ask if they cross reference. It is entirely possible.

i've call the yamaha Dealer, the parts Guy told me that it wont fit, but the mechanic told me yes, it will.

Its why i was asking for a second tought.

You will not be able to bolt down the RX-1 coils like they are supposed to on the Apex head cover, but they should fit, I don't know if they will stay in place very well.

sy, its not the coil for spark plug, its the pulser coil, its in the magneto i think
