I have skid out on my 09 FX Nytro and I cant seem to compress the rear shock even a little. I have the springs set on soft and im sitting on the skid
(170 lbs). Is this normal?

No its not normal. You won't compress far because of leverage but it should move. Take the cross shafts out if they will come out. Grease them all winter long and always when you put it away in the spring to push the water out doesn't guarantee anything but helps.

If the skid flexed when installed on the sled the shock is probably okay,the shock would be a problem if you could flex the skid easily..then you would have a very soft ride and bottom out. My dealer said to make sure both upper and lower adjustments are turned the same number of clicks. I as told to ride it and turn both adjustments to see if it made a difference if it didn't then my shock probably need rebuilding.
