I wondered how Yamaha suddenly got 4.5" more travel out of the ProActive.
If the other manufacturers are going to measure it by the arc of the rear axle, why cant Yamaha do the same? It might not be 100% honest that way, but at least they are all on a level playing field.

Well, you did do a good job of explaing your experience with the Phazer.gerard143 said:wow this thread isnt getting many responses. i figured it would have tons and tons.
I have a question about the handwarmer controls. It looks like both the hand and thumbwarmer controls are on the left handlebar. Is this true? If so, how do you turn the warmers down? It looks like you would have to cycle all the way through the heat range so that they sort of "reset" to the minimum level. Is that true?

Octane, Yes I agree with you. When in Rome, do as the Romans do with the suspensions. With the handle bars it has a loop curcuit on it. It will go to your thumb warmer, as soon as you are done adjusting it, it will blink and then go to your handwarmers.
Generally – current Yamaha’s have had lots of weight on the skis. I guess they do that to keep us from driving off the trail.
Some say they have good weight transfer – actually, on the high HP models it’s the sled rotating around the track.
Is the Phazer the same design – lots of weight?
Thanks

gerard143, I was wondering how you thought the 80 horse motor would push the 144 inch track on the phazer mountain lite. When I sat on the Phazer fx and then on the mountain lite i thought the mountain lite had a much better rider forward postion and am interested in buying one but am concerned about the power.
