:-o :-o rolled 10,000 on the odometer this weekend.. I love the warrior or should I say the wife does now as she stole it from me. she let me buy an apex, so I cant complain.. anyway all of a sudden I am seeing the famous "lite show" from one of my coils. what was the final verdict on this? at this point are they junk or should I clean them? they are wicked loose on the head or top. It's an 04 and no warranty.

Had the light show on mine a month ago, just check them with a meter according to the service manual(mine were fine)and take apart the rubber at the bottom of the coil and clean all the black powder off, this is what cause the light show.Re-install them with a new o-ring above the rubber boot(about 1-inch below the top cap)to keep them from moving around(very loose on my warrior with over 5000 miles).

thanks for the info, but here is where you lose me... what kind of voltage meter and where and what kind of o ring?

Heres the page from my shop manual,a AUTO-RANGE LCD Digital Multimeter is what i used(I am an electrican by trade)and the O-rings are ones that can fit snug over the parts of rubber that goes down into the cylinder hole, you may need a kit of assorted o-rings like i have so you can find the right ones. There are lots of post on here on how to fit the o-rings on,the search feature works great on this forum.

Coils

It took the coil apart. The hard plastic shield pulls apart and will slide off. I then cleaned the carbon dust off and lubed with some dielectric grease and the arcing stopped.

Had the original wires on at 12K
