It's a cost issue to try to have a custom one piece filter made. You would be looking at $300-$400 for just the filter with no gaurantee that it will perform any better.
Allen, right now it's all food for thought.
I started the topic to stir up the gray matter a little.
I'm sure we all realize that cost vs. function etc. require testing and more cost etc.
Plus why mess with a product that already works, sells and gives back a bit on the markup. It's a no brainer.
I don't think I'm alone in saying.
We really do appreciate the huge efforts and challenges your shop has done to help us go faster. There is less quality aftermarket available to us Yamaha guys compared to other brands.
Maybe keep this on the back burner for next time.
In a couple years Yamaha will replace the Nytro. It'll be a whole new scramble to market with add-on stuff.
If Yamaha has been taking notes the aftermarket may need to step it up a notch also.

If things fit well, you guys will like what I have coming....

As far as holding them up I used a used a u shaped bracket that I mounted to the factory airbox mounting bolts. There not going nowhere.
